It's an awful feeling, isn't it?

I remember years ago, getting up to do a duet with a friend... He was experienced at doing duets. I wasn't. LOL I felt the same way... as if my body had turned to a cheap plastic robotic toy that didn't work properly... I wanted to sink under the stage.

Fortunately my friend was kind, but I noticed he never asked me to sing with him again. LOL

You, my dear friend, are an amazing writer. Who needs to sing like Taylor Swift? Singing is beautiful. Period. It's an expression of joy and hope and everything good God has given us to celebrate. And he does mean us to celebrate, my friend. He has created this world with an eye toward beauty, toward delight, toward joy!

And yes, darkness sometimes encroaches. Death was never meant to be part of this picture. We were made for Eden! But even in loss there is hope. No life is ever wasted, and no flame, passed on, ever goes out.

Keep on writing, keep that flame burning bright.

Love you.
-MaryFrom Mary's Penhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01407949771194206134noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9028629695406328441.post-90859013937132849232011-08-13T07:28:27.851-07:002011-08-13T07:28:27.851-07:00So singing isn't your thing. That's okay. ...So singing isn't your thing. That's okay. I'm proud of you for getting up there (notice I didn't, even though I secretly wanted to).
But I want you to know this: you weren't as bad as you think. Sure you were quiet and terrified, but at least you weren't Esther --some of those notes were actually painful. But...she loves to sing and she got up there time after time. And THAT'S okay.
Karaoke night is about having fun, laughing and singing along. I want you to remember that night for the fun we had together (for 2 1/2 hours) and not for the last 3 minutes.
You know what you are good --no great-- at? Writing. I LOVE this post! You are such a good writer. Please keep writing!
Love you!Michaele Stoughtonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06369315790760871519noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9028629695406328441.post-74085158873836635982011-08-13T04:07:58.141-07:002011-08-13T04:07:58.141-07:00You are a bold adventurer!
